My Incredible Sitcom Idea

Ok, stick with me. It will feature a married couple consisting of a portly, working class husband (perhaps with a slightly goofy sense of humour, must drink beer) and an attractive, intelligent wife who doesn't put up with much. We should have a 16 year old daughter who wants to date but isn't allowed to. A 12 to 14 year old son who is somewhat high strung, but brainy and an even bigger doofus best friend for the husband character. Occasionally one or the other of the couples' parents should show up to cause trouble for the husband character.

I'm telling you this just can't miss. There is NOTHING like this on TV.

You are being sarcastic here, right?

How about the boy being around 8, and they can have a daughter around 12 who is serious beyond her years, always rolling her eyes because of her parents?

:)

Or one of the parents of the couple that actually live with them!

Well, I'm not all that into sitcoms anymore. What I think we need on TV is an original drama. Maybe a couple of scientist types who investigate crimes using technology and scientific theory, then get to suit up with guns and body armor and take down the bad guys. It can then turn to the lawyers who have to put them in jail. They can call it Crossing Numbers CSI & Order Justice.

An idea like that would NEVER sell. Whoa, wait, how about a reality show where we stick a bunch of people together in some off the wall situation and they have to perform wacky challenges to stay on the program?

Huh? Huh?

I think that has some hope, as long as the whole things is actually focused on artificially-created drama that's primarily manufactured by "editors," which is another word for "writers."

But only if it's supremely inane.
