My new Playstation 3 and HDTV!

So, I've been saving up 200 or 300 dollars a month for the last 9 months (I get 650 a month from SSI, live with my parents, and give 250 directly to the household) and have finally saved up enough to puy a PS3! and a 42 inch Olevia 42 inch LCD HDTV! I got an 80 gig model with MotorStorm, an HDMI cable, a 5.1 syrround sound system, and Sonic the Hedgehog for my mother to play, Conan, Resistance: the Fall of Man, Marvel Ultimate Alliance, and the Spider-Man trilogy on Blu-Ray. This is the biggest purchase I've ever made, and I'm pretty thrilled.

The announcement of Ghostbusters just finalized my decision, and since I had akready gotten a PSP 2 years ago, I figured that I would get a PS# for the interconnectivity. I already have most of the money for it saved up, and only have to pay off 3 more months on it. I'm really damn excited about this :) My brother who moved to Pittsburgh 2 years ago, who was my best friend and my link with outside society and whom I miss dearly, has one, and with this I can communicate and play games with him daily, and that itself is almost enough to make it worth it :) I've been in a horrible depression for the past 6months and I'm hoping that this will help cheer me up, with being able to communicate with my brother and everything.

Well, I know it probably doesn't sound like much, but I just wanted to tell some friendy faces (er, screennames?) ANyway, bebye for now.

P.S. SSI? Strategic Simulations Inc.? ;) No, probably not... SSI has many meanings...

Social Security Income. I've had 3 surgeries on my spine since I was 19, and I can't do any work involving my back or lifting. I also have attention deficit disorder, tourette syndrome, and chronic depression. I'm... a mess. :(

Thanks for the kind words, my friends :) I can't tell you how much kind thoughts like that mean to me... I don't get them very much.

Congrats on the purchase! It is a very slick unit and can also serve as a media streamer off of your computer. The 80 gig model isn't 100% backwards compatible, but there are a substantial number of very good PS2 games, which should also be quite inexpensive used. So don't forget about those, just check on the compatibility first.

The recent release of Blade Runner on Blu-Ray looks spectacular.

Warhawk is a very good multi-player title and there's a version which comes with a cheap bluetooth ear piece for in game chat/voice communication (you should be able to use any bluetooth headset with it, if you get the downloadable version).

Unreal Tournament III supports USB/Bluetooth mouse and keyboard for controls, which is a quantum leap better than trying to use the PS3 controller for FPS games.

There's also the Orange Box which has Team Fortress II another excellent multiplayer game. For some unknown godforsaken reason it doesn't support keyboard and mouse controls, though it's conceivable it might at some point.

I got a keyboard for it, as well as the blu-ray remote, and I cannot wait until Ghostbusters comes out on blu-ray, and I'm salivating just thinking about the Ghostbusters game coming out!
