GIANT are a primitive breed of giant that lives in cold, mountainous areas. Measuring well over 10 feet tall, their muscular frame and sharp claws are a daunting sight. Their shaggy fur is a sallow color, often knotted and matted

Combat
Giant: Unlike other giants, GIANTs are not proficient with weapons. They do have a giant's typical Darkvision with a range of 60 feet, however.
Rend (Ex): If a GIANT hits an opponent with both claw attacks, it latches onto the opponent's body and tears the flesh. This attack automatically deals an additional 2d6+12 points of damage.
Skills: A GIANT receives a +4 racial bonus to Wilderness Lore checks when tracking by scent, and a +8 racial bonus to Climb checks. This has been worked into its stats, above.

Well, drop the line about them still having darkvision in the combat text. I'd personally move the mention of how GIANTs don't have weapon proficiency to "Skills and Feats", and, of course, replace Wilderness Lore with Survival and give the full description of the Climb bonus.

I'd say LA +4, for the high ability modifiers, nice natural weapons and fast healing. Maybe +5, but I think the racial Hit Dice help to "cushion" the LA. Power Attack, Endurance and Improved Initiative are all possible feats that would fit, I think.

cool, got all that. :) do giants have any automatic weapon proficiency or is just whatever is listed in the description?
