(My Players Stay Out!) Desire opinions and advice on campaign ideas.

I like the tunnel idea, it also provides a new obstacle, since Avariel are are a rule extreme claustrophobes. I can just picture it now, they blindfold him and drag him behind them through the tunnel.
You know, if the group don't find a way to escape quickly, you could work this in. The Thayans could have a small base as a staging area. Maybe they keep the prisoners in a mini prison, or even just in a cave with the entrance blocked off. The prisoners who have been there a while could have dug a tunnel, or maybe found a slight air flow from the back of the cave, meaning if they break through theycan escape the cave (but going who knows where before finding their way to the surface again). And the PC's showing up are the break they were looking for. Someone who can fight if needed, and provide the courage the prisoners otherwise lack.

Though captures also depend alot on your group. A wizard won't escape without his spell book, or he may as well be playing a 1st level commoner. On the other hand, Sorcerers and Clerics can't simply be shut up in a cell unless there is some way of making sure they don't cast spells.

Which is where my Psionics-addicted player: Rakeron comes in.

But if the sorcerers and clerics don't display their abilities, who's to know that they can use any form of magic?

Unless you are really doing Hogan's Red Wizards, I think they get a clue about a cleric from the holy symbol and stuff. If they capture the PC's then presumably they'll search them. Clerics and wizards would be pretty obvious to Thayans.

Something like a Sorcerer would be less obvious. It mostly depends on the battle. If the PC's have any chance to fight back, generally they will, and thus the Thayans will know. If someone is zapping with magic missiles and lacks a spellbook, odds are good he's not a wizard. BUT, this is all just speculation since it depends on what the group ends up being. Do you know details on that yet?

Well, the way I had their capture planned out was that they would probably all end up drunk and passed our around the campfire, except for the guy standing watch, who would be clubbed into unconciousness by surprise. It'll work out the way it'll work out. The last time I DM'ed was COMPLETELY improve, and it wasn't too bad.

And sadly, all I know is that Blackshirt5 is playing a henry rollins-esque monk named Spider Dobs and this avariel ranger who has yet to be named. The other two players have yet to gen characters.:rolleyes:
