My take on sorcerer

Is this a good idea

I thought the whole Olds Folks/Gazebo home thing was tongue and cheek. Didn't fit with what the class was trying to accomplish I thought.

The sorcerer was an anti-social, hostile, homicidal, and a violent lunatic. The gazebo could have been his inner sanctum.

hey! you are from Iowa.

Slipknot rocks.

As for this Sorc. * . . . .long silence followed by cough*

Dude, you gotta take it easy. You are being very pushy with people, and they are obviously being turned away from this post. You seem almost frantic in trying to get peoples comments in here. Don't sweat it. People will respond if they deem it worthwhile. Also, i was *very* turned off by the overload of information, and by the general biased approach to the sorcerer. WotC were just trying to be smartasses, and create adventure hooks by mentioning the "dragon bloodline" also, that mostly applies to Kobolds in the D&D universe > NOT humans or elves (its just Kobolds are not supported in the PHB). Anyways, good luck with this sorcerer. In my opinion, you should take your Spells post, adn create a new thread, and hyperlink the two together (allowing people to focus on one thing at a time). Other than that, i dont have much to say.

Okay I briefly checked it over. Where is BAB? Why does it get 6 skill points? Why does it get more feats/abilities than a fighter?

Overall impression. This class looks like it is a half finished compilation of several 2e ideas that have been thrown together with only a cursory check to make sure this class is better than every other class.

My advice. Scrap. Rebuild from scratch with an eye for game balance. Do not try and just tweak it. You need to rethink the class based on the core concept behind it. Fresh perspective and all.

Ok I took the time to read all of the Prc info and got all the way through 3rd level spells. This PRC is way overpowered. The spells are even worse.

Heck lets look at the first spell listed.

Blister
Hit point cost: 1
Range: 100'
Casting Time: 2
Saving Throw: None <---------- This is just way too much for what the spell does
Area of Effect: One Creature

Blister causes the skin of the unfortunate target of this spell to sprout blisters all over his skin. This is very painful, and will cause the target to get a -1 to his next initiative. It will also cause 1d6 points of damage for every 2 levels of the caster.

Ok lets see, this spell is 1st level and automatically affects the target?? Not to mention the damage scales at 1d6 per 2 lvl's with no cap or save??

Looking further down the list we have a spell that blinds the target no save at 3rd. It gets worse from there. Too many of these spells are no save also.

Nytewolf you'll also note that these are 2e spells with a few surfaces changes to appear occasionally 3e. In 2e these spells would been even scarier.

To The Druid Merlin, the amount of work you've put in is very impressive and considering that amount of work it's understandable for you to want responses.
I'm looking for a few clarifications (hopefully you'll edit the original text)
1. You need to give your sorc prestige class a name if only for clarity's sake. Hellmage? Demonsorcerer? something
2. Your Dark gifts are ranked in power from 1-20, to access them you need the your level + a stat bonus to match or exceed that level right? Now that's the combined level right? The core sorcerer/psion + Hellmage? With that assumsion the first 7 or so will very rarely be taken they are less powerful.
A 1st level hellmage? with an 18 required stat could pick any of the first 10.
That just seems to be to many options for the first Dark gift
3. Your Blood magic spells, They require the HP damage and a spell slot? If that's true I don't see any indication what Level slot they take (I would have assume 1 hp=1st level excetra but you have ones that cost 12hp)
The spells being more powerful makes sense if it costs both. (although some may still ba a little over the top) Hoe do these new Blood magic spells fit into the Sorc spells known?

Clarification please

Oh and I love the intro story/dialogue

Okay, seeing as how you are named "The Druid Merlin" I'm going to just take it that you aren't a Progressive/Conservative Christian. Anyways, I don't agree with the whole "Sorceror's are evil" thing. They're there to allow for a different type of spell casting, I say you make this a Prestige Class (hence the requirements) and call it a Heretic or Occultist or something (I had accidentally said "Call it a Harlot?" to my friend... yeah.... *cough* Otherwise I like it, I agree with the flavor text and I like the whole feel of the class, although you might want to compact it or something...
