My turn to rant on Dragon

While you are at it, why don't those of us that rent apartments get the move in specials that new renters get when we renew a lease?
I, too, always push for the move-in special upon renewal. I've always managed to get at least 50% of what new tenants get, and have reached as much as 90% before.

I know, but taking a multiple year subscription is kind of a "leap of faith" that Dragon will still be here by 2004, despite firings and shuffling in the industry.

It is just a little fustrating to be "dismissed" after my money is taken. Many times at the hardware store I work at, a regular customer will be upset when an item he just purchased yesterday is now on sale today. Everytime this happens, we reinburse the difference, because the returning customer's future purchases is worth far more than the difference.

And of course there's the rule on happy/angry customers:
A Happy customer will tell two people about your store,
An Angry customer will tell two hundred.

I agree with you that it bugs me when this happens. I don't think Dragon should have to give me the free copy of those items retroactively, but still it does bother me. Same way it bothers me when something I buy at a store goes on sale the next week.

These promotions are designed to get new business. However, no one is excluded from this offer. Even if you have a long-term subscription, if you subscribe or renew now, you can still take advantage of the promotional offer.

I'm all over it; I was interested in Arms & Armor, but put off by the price/page ratio. But if I get an extra year of Dragon . . . :)

I already have Legions of Hell . . . but I might tack on another year of Dungeon anyways, while the price is low (Edit: though not as low as the ad in the magazine -- issue 95 says $22.95, the website $28.95). See me through to 2005, and take care of one Christmas present. :)

Hmm, I hope they know that's a renewal... Better send an email to be sure.

At least I got some free time and other stuff when I called my cell phone operator and told them I'd change to another operator. Too bad I had already switched to another one (that had outrageous new "subscriber" offers).

It doesn't bug me. As a matter of fact, I appeciate it.

It tells me that Dragon is taking steps to make sure it has a broad reader base.

Broad Reader base = Stability (usually).

I wan't as much readers as posible so I know that when I get my three year subscription, I will still get it in the third year.

Freebees are nice, but it's not what gets me to purchace the subscription.

Don't you save enough with a three-year subscription to be able to go buy your own copy of Arms & Armor?

This is not to be over looked, they already offer you a deal with the lower price.
