My Various Campaign Art

Great stuff! I love the style of your artwork.

Coincidentally, the loremaster at the top of this thread is almost exactly the direction I was going with for my next character.

Thanks Greg, Tsunami. Tsu, glad you found that illo useful.

Not game art, but maybe needs a female explorer, archeologists.

Actually, this is a modern ode to the WWII pin up. I have a friend over in Afghanistan at the moment. We can communicate by e-mails...which brings that part of the world into sharp focus...especially while listening to BBC World, which does such a better job of reporting than our own news services.

So I hope it brings a smile to his face and perhaps to yours...

Here is Victrix, a character that I drew for my second assignment for Hero Games waaaaay back in 4th ed Champions Universe. She has always been a integral part of Neil's RDU game and recent events have brought this beloved NPC to the forefront. When the original Champions disappeared, Victrix, having lost the Freedom Squad in Philly, stepped into the void. Now the New Champions, with new PCs are being formed... Barracuda, who I shown early in this thread is one of the Newbies. Demonstar, posted really early in this thread and is Eric's PC is another. So Neil requested that I update her, including making her in her 30s. So I tried. Up to you if I succeeded or not.

If you see any simularities between Victrix and my PC Vector... that was intentional. They are cousins, both tekes...although my PC is much more powerful, Victrix has a incredible network of contacts and is one very determined NPC and a bit of a spitfire to boot.

Sweet! Is this painted digitally?

Oh hell no. This is hours and hours of traditional paint. Well... almost traditional paint. Its Genesis paint, which stays wet til heated to 150 degrees, then it sets. But it works like Oil paints. Wonderful stuff. Not many know of it.

There is not one speck of digital work, all the lumps are there to be seen.

I did not think it was, but you have been giving a lot of tips for painting digitally.

I'm sorry, I hope you didn't think I was rude... the whole hell no was me laughing cause it took so long to do that painting. It would been quicker to do it it digitally. I wasn't trying to disparage you at all.

But, you're right, its traditional. I still believe that there is a place for traditional paint. It teaches things faster, even though the method is slower, than digital can. At least for me... and from observing a lot of digital art. I find going back and forth inform both mediums. Makes my craft with both better.

No worries.

I agree that one can learn more from traditional. I just hate all the prep work and the waiting time for oil (not to mention that when I used to paint in oil, I would find paint on items no where near the canvas). After three or four years of not painting, I just decided to start again about four months ago, but made the decision to go digital (photoshop). However, I definitely want to go take a traditional painting course at the local college just to brush up (pun not intended) on using oils and acryllics.
