My Website!

My comment is that the title of this thread is very misleading. Enough that folks are remarking on it. You probably want to change it yourself, before it generates enough complaint that we have to change it for you.

You know, I have been told so many times that 4e would have gnomes straight out of the box (details in the MM) that I didn't even think. I hope that the new title is more to your liking; if not, feel free to make it more clear.

Will get back to you on the rules, but my first impression is that your page background makes it really hard to read the text. There's really nothing wrong with black Arial 12 on white. :)

That sounds good. I'll fix the background the next time I update. By then I should probably have the Fighter preview done. I might also stick up, say, the half-orc or the human for context.

Nice site. You are taking a similar but kind of different approach to NPC's than I am with my project.

On the subject of fun vs satisfaction I don't believe the two are at odds. Its all just a matter of expectations vs experience. For example lets take a situation and apply it to two different systems.

The situation: Your character is the victim of a hold person spell on the first round of a combat and it will last 10 minutes.

In Basic D&D this is unfun
In 4E this is unfun

In Basic D&D the fight may be over in 20 minutes perhaps less. Momentarily unfun but not a total loss for the evening.

In 4E the fight will grind on long enough to wander away from the table and perhaps take in a 90 minute movie on cable.
Very unfun and likely resulting in an unsatifactory gaming experience.

Thats my take on it.

There are lots of approaches one can take; hopefully things made with my project will be easy to convert to yours and vice versa.

I started this thread to deal with my project announcements from now on: http://www.enworld.org/forum/general-rpg-rules-discussion/242571-rcfg-announcement.html

Whenever there is an update to my RPG Design page, I will post there. I might also drop the occasional tidbit there before it appears on my main site. For example, I am planning on posting Combat Skill Bonuses there as soon as I am done here.
