Melisande, Paladin

Melisande nodded as her suggestion for trying to locate Frost by her belongings might not work. She was not a mage or diviner.

“Very well, let us try to find some maps in side then. Sol, if you are intending to stay outside, mayhap you would not mind holding the reins to my horse so he does not wander off? I would appreciate the aid.”

She would accompany the others into the Library to seek out some assistance to quickly find the desired maps they needed.

I thought of that, but as SDW said the range is really[ small for what we need. We need something that can be used for thousands of miles.

The total area searchable by Locate object is:

(4/3)*pi*(r)^3 = 681472000 * (4 / 3) * 3.1415926535897932384626433832795
= 2854543238.4361914370688193489203

Rounded to 2854543238 cubit feet. Which is not even a cubic mile

That being said, I will have Aradra say something about it. Better to have the option on the table.
