Looks at Pen & Paper dot Net... slaps forehead.

I totally forgot about The Black Company hardcover. Doh! :o

I have that one. :)

Definite vote for Medieval Player's Manual. Neat ideas for settings with some very different assumptions than traditional fantasy RPGs. The "practical magic" systems for charms and alchemy, and the non-combat classes like the Scholar and Artist, are intriguing and largely adaptable to other settings (though classes like the Cunning Man and Natural Magician work best as replacements for classes like the Sorcerer and Wizard). I'd be careful about Charisms, which are neat but can lead to Book of Exalted Deeds powergaming in munchkiny hands.

Skull & Bones disappointed me with its rules, though there are a lot of evocative setting ideas. The ship rules are a little fiddly, the classes have some very specific abilities (favored ship type comes to mind) that don't seem generally useful, and the voodoo classes are more or less reskinned Sorcerers and Clerics. The Cannon Fodder and Roll the Bones rules are kind of fun, though.

A lot of the Mythic Vistas books are pretty tightly wound into their settings, so many rules are difficult to port (again, MPM and S&B are to a certain extent exceptions). A lot of classes, feats, and abilities are about interacting with elements of the setting, so if you aren't using those elements its sort of useless.

BTW, since we're talking about Green Ronin products, which of the Master Class books are v.3.5?

Cavalier, Holy Warrior, Noble, and I think Unholy Warrior, are 3.5. Green Ronin has 3.5 updates for the Shaman and Witch on their site.

HAMUNAPTRA!

Oh.

Well, buy another. I have three copies, just in case. Are you so well prepared? ;)

But yeah, it's a strong line. Strongly seconding the Mindshadows suggestion for an Indian/Psionics-themed game.

I still need to grab the Black Company book.

And on the subject of Green Ronin 3.x products in general, I cannot recommend Advanced Bestiary enough.

Red Star Campaign Setting

D20 Modern. Dystopian world, magitechnology, disregard for human life, militaristic lifestyle, skyships the size of cities. The default focal point are lands under oppressive regime of former USSR. Heroes are most likely part of military - insurgents, Red Fleet soldiers or something similar. Due to rather general approach requires a lot of work on GM's side. Still, if you know a bit about modern history (especially the dirty little wars of late), it's not going to be difficult to find source material.
Note: I have a hard cover - it's a pretty book.

Also note that Paizo shop still has a few Mythic Vistas products at unbelievably low prices.

Regards,
Ruemere

I was REALLY lucky to get the copy I did. I doubt I'd find another, locally. Besides, I have a lot of other books I need to find instead... like Book of Fiends!!!

I have that. What's your opinion on the other Advanced Rulebooks from Green Ronin?

Hold the presses! I definitely need to get those!
Thanks for the list, 1Mac. Unholy Warrior might get some consideration. :]

Hmm, I might have to reconsider GRP's Witch book now that I know about the v.3.5 update. That's the one Master Class book I can really use.
