Mythic Vistas: Best Books?

Okay, I should clarify that the local stores are sometimes unwilling to order 3PP d20 System/OGL books since they aren't consider current. This has even happened with 3PP boks that are 4e compatible (XRP's Advanced Player's Guide).

One store I order older d20 System/OGL books for me if a distributor still has a copy sitting in a warehouse, somewhere. They won't ask the distributor to try to get an older book if the distributor doesn't have it already. That is how I got Hamunaptra. :D

For example, I'm getting a couple of the newer Castles & Crusades books but there aren't any of the older Castle Zagyg C&C books available from any of their distributors and they won't go off-the-map to try to find it for me. FYI... the store is comic store first and anything else second.

Roleplaying books tend to have a very short lifespan in Edmonton. If something isn't very popular, it disappears out of the distribution chain really fast.

Well, they can always order it directly from Studio 2 Publishing if their distributor doesn't have it.

I was REALLY lucky to get the copy I did. I doubt I'd find another, locally. Besides, I have a lot of other books I need to find instead... like Book of Fiends!!!

I have that. What's your opinion on the other Advanced Rulebooks from Green Ronin?

I've never actually read the other Advanced books in-depth, that I can recall. I'll give 'em a looksee tonight if I can.

As for Book of Fiends, I think you can get it through Lulu or another print-on-demand service. I think.

It's true. We've made some of our OOP d20 books available through Lulu, including Book of Fiends, Advanced Bestiary, and Aasimar & Tiefling.

It's nice to see folks still enjoying the Mythic Vistas books. It was one of my favorite of our d20 lines.
I am aware that The Book of Fiends (as well as Aasimar & Tiefling) is available on Lulu.com. I'd like to get the Casebound version, but I don't think I can justify how much that's going to cost to ship to Canada. :heh:

When it's closer to my birthday, maybe I'll ask my sister to order it for me as present.

Testement is my favorite of the bunch, and perhaps the single best "d20" product.

It would be a shame not to get it. And what RCK noted upthread is true for me also. I also used bits of it in a more medieval (ok very medieval) 3.5 game. I did not use the medieval one so much, but did like it.
