Most got playtested in my FR home-world campaign. The final versions were all written with the Scarred Lands in mind. One of my favorites is Sinsiter Blast, which is like a magic missile that does additional damage when your opponent is caught flat-footed.

Only Divine Protection and Sunstrike made the book.

This one is from 2E, but I'll post it anyways.

It was called Quell, it was first level, and it made the target unable to speak for 1 minute (which, back in the olden days was 1 round). I think they had to save vs. poison or something.

Anyway, it had fairly limited combat applications, but it was created because we had a "spotlight hog" in the group. They guy just would not shut up. His character was always interrupting others, butting into conversations with NPC's and was kind of an jerkoff to boot.

So two of the PC spellcasters could shut him up for one solid minute of RP time.

It was a pretty popular spell.
