Is this the same movie where at the end, they are trying to get to a statue by not touching the floor? They make it to the statue, which is also trapped, I remember a "snake" coming out of the statue and biting one of the people. Is this the same movie I vaguely remember?

That sounds like it. Been a long time since I saw it (probably 1983 or 1984), but the scene you describe sounds familiar.
