Natural Healing: How long does it take to "heal" luck and skill?

I know the abstract definition of hit points is correct
Correct in that it says it somewhere in the book, but incorrect in that it is not compatible with the mechanics it claims to explain. Unless they do a serious rebuild from the ground up, and actually make the mechanics work with that bit of fluff, I'll ignore it in 4e as much as I did previously.

No, they didn't. And watch out with the whole stupid thing.

Oh, sorry. I should have qualified that then. Every campaign that I have ever played in or heard anyone discuss that they played in houseruled that your Con bonus helped you heal. Clearly that doesn't involve everyone. I apologize that I jumped to conclusions about your circle of gamers.

As for "stupid" I was not refering to a person-- it was not an insult to anyone. I just find that game mechanic itself illogical, senseless, and counterintuitive.

The reason that it went to "your level per day" was because of skill. Its always been skill. A hit that would kill a low level charecter scratches a high level one. Since that hit is only a scratch, it heals faster.

Problem already solved.

But the higher that characters CON, the more HP he will have. He heals at the same rate as a character of his level with a CON of 3, and therefore takes much longer to heal. Because he is tougher. How does that makes sense?

If healing is tied to level it automatically takes into consideration ones luck, skill, INT, CHA and every other stat; without them one wouldn't be the level they are.

Note the absence of CON from that list...

I think the rate of natural healing will depend upon whether you are "bloodied" or not.

Healing will be very fast if you are not, representing the "recovery" of luck and skill.

Slower rate if you are bloodied representing the additional time it takes to knit actual wounds and how if you are physically injured your skill is restricted some and it takes more luck to stay alive.
