Nazareth Awakened - Chapter 02: Wives of Solomon

Harper, Thyrsus mage

[section]
Harper's lips twitch and he considers a brief moment before giving a curt nod.

"That's a safe enough assumption. His soul hasn't passed beyond this realm, anyway." He exhales long and shrugs. "Ok, it's up to you, then. Anything we can do to help?"

Chance nods. "One of you'll have to drive, the other should keep a watch out for trouble...especially as we get closer to wherever he wound up. I'll need all my attention on the spell, so I won't be much good for anything else."

Agnasci

"Give me a double bacon cheeseburger."
"Double bacon cheeseburger... it's for a cop."
"What the hell's that about? You gonna spit in it now?"

BR and Buddha are still watching their movie on the other side of the basement, having spared only the occasional glance in Agnasci's direction so far.

One of the bikers' phones starts ringing and they mute the movie. Agnasci momentarily returns his focus to his own location. "Yeah?" BR answers his phone. "Uh, sure. Now? Uh huh. Uh huh." He exchanges a look with Buddha. "Look, Mad Dog-" he starts to protest but he's interrupted and falls silent for several long moments. "Should I get all the boys together? Uh huh. All right, boss." He hangs up the phone and sighs.

"What's up?"

"Mad Dog's running the bath for our little buddy."

"What the hell?" Buddha's flabbergasted. "Again?"

"Third time's the charm."

Agnasci's thoughts are immediately back at the drowned dog in the trailer. He's run out of time.

It's a wasted effort, he knows, but still Agnasci has to try.

"Ever ask yourself why you do this crazy stuff for him, Rich? It's gotta seem pretty f**ked up, right? What did that poor dog do anyway? Nothing to deserve to die in that trailer out in the middle of the desert, I reckon. Do you even know why you're doing me in?"

(OOC :: Is it possible to cast both mage sight spells that Law knows. Sorry for half asses posts. Works been a real bitch and I haven't really had the time to consult the book for the best answer.)

Chance, Harper, and Law

(OOC :: Is it possible to cast both mage sight spells that Law knows. Sorry for half asses posts. Works been a real bitch and I haven't really had the time to consult the book for the best answer.)
You sure can. A person has two limiting factors that determine spell limits. The first is how many spells a mage can have on him at once (described on pg 128) - this number is equal to your Stamina (2 for Law) and going above this limit imposes cumulative penalties to all spellcasting rolls. The second is how many spells a mage can maintain control over at once (described on pg 75) - this number is equal to your Gnosis + 3 (4 for Law) it is impossible to go above this limit). Casting both mage sight spells will put Law at 2/2 for the former restriction and 2/4 for the latter.

Law casts a pair of spells, attuning himself to the realms of Death and Matter. Faye's bolo tie lights up as magical, as before, and she still has a cloud of death about her, marking her to Law as someone who has killed. But what immediately takes Law's interest is a spell floating in the air between himself, Chance, and Harper. It's slipping slowly across the room, following the three as they start to make their way to Law's Tahoe.

Agnasci

[sblock=Convincing BR]Roll: Manipulation 4 + Persuasion 4 - BR's base reluctance 4 = Success with 1 success
Agnasci has planted a seed of doubt in BR's mind[/sblock]"Shut up," BR barks at Agnasci, practically snarling. But Agnasci can tell that this ritual sacrifice crap unnerves both the bikers. From what he knows about BR in particular, Mad Dog could order him to just shoot Agnasci and it wouldn't be a problem. But this is different.

Chance pauses at that and quickly invokes her own mage sight; peering past the veil of subjective time to spy the perturbations that magic made in causality.

"We did feel magic being worked in the bookstore," she murmurs. "Thought it might be Penrose, keepin' an eye on us. But, if it's following us..."

She raises her voice a bit.

"Hey, Agnasci, is that you? Can you lead us around with that magic of yours?"

(OOC - Trying to cast the Time mage sight spell)

Chance can detect the spell, same as Law.

To Mosier: Agnasci can move his scry window about within the immediate area but he can't lead it out of the bookstore without recasting the spell. Suffice it to say he wouldn't be able to lead them to his present location with the amount of Willpower (and time) he has remaining.
