Shadow Over Mystara Arcade Emulator

So, I've gone crazy. Here's my game for Gameday:

Tabletop gaming meets arcade action! Play 1st Edition D&D (Rules Cyclopedia) with some modifications to make it feel like the eponymous arcade game and tons more fun! Don't bring your quarters, I'll have some for everybody.

Not familiar with the arcade game but still want some fun butt-kicking action? Come on down.

I've just moved to the Triangle, so I am interested to see what all the fanfare is about. :) Who knows, I may also be able to find one or two more players for my bi-weekly game as well!

I'll likely play in a game or two, but I am completely inexperienced in Con-style games. Are they pretty much just 4-hour one-shot sessions? Two day marathons? How does all this work?!?

Anyway... It's likely I'll be there too.

Aw man, that's too bad. I sure wish you could make one more. It's been a pleasure having you as a semi-regular attendee over the years, Jeph. I know that the future holds great things for you.

Always glad to have new people. We strive for (and achieve IMHO) a very laid back atmosphere at the Game Days. They are widely varied but in the large majority of cases they run 4-5 hours (our "slots" are 5 hours long each) of rolicking fun one-shot games. They vary widely in terms of theme and system. In fact it is very rare that you'll see any sort of "vanilla D&D" (not that there is anything at all wrong with vanilla D&D) games. As more games go up on the site just look around and see what looks like fun. Then just sign up and show up to have a blast.

We do try and make this event about more than just gaming though so there's a heavy social element as well. We usually get together on Friday night beforehand to hang out and we'll do this again this time around (cookout in my back yard if there are no objections). And a big bunch of us go out to dinner on Saturday night and talk about all the fun we had that day. We hope to see you at those events as well.

Let me second Rel's fond farewell. It was great to meet you, and also thanks for introducing me to Feng Shui - one of the most fun game I've ever owned. :)

Just let me know Where and When? :)

My wife's not much of a gamer, but she might come just to hang out too.

We usually kick off the festivities around 7:00. E-mail me and I'll tell you how to find me.

It's mostly one-shots on one day; We did have a two day event once. Sometimes a DM will run the next episode of a game on following gamedays. The DM's usually post info about available characters if they are pre-generated. It is in the writeups for the games how it will be handled.

It's a serious opportunity to have fun. :) Great way to try new games also.

Welcome to the area, BTW!

Thanks -- I look forward to checking it out!

Oh.. when can we start signing up for events? (or can we already and I am losing it already at 40...)
