[Necromancer Games] Announcing 'Tome of Horrors II'!

Hi all! :)

So is it called "Tome of Horrors II" or "Return to the Tome of Horrors" I always liked the latter when Scott mentioned the prospect many months ago...?

Don't know if we'll stick that on the cover, but that's what we've been referring to it as for the last several months.

Oh and Scott, try and squeeze a few epic/immortal type monsters in for old times sake. ;)

Heh- of course. :)

One of the things that I thought made the Tome of Horrors is that it was 1st edition content update to 3rd edition rules.

From what it sounds like here, all of this material will be new.

Are there any plans to cover the numerous monsters not covered in any 3.0/3.5 product yet?

Unless there's a lot of old OD&D and 1e monsters in there, it will not appeal to me since I mostly DM age old adventure modules from ages past and I really need the stats for those old monsters.

I'd like to see something like the SRD done for Tome of Horrors (which I already own for the above reasons) to d/l the monsters and convert them into statblocks. :)

Unless you mean 2e modules when you say "ages past", didn't we hit just about all the old 1e stuff the first time around? :)

Yeah... I... I was expecting d20 versions of 2E and 0E monsters... *sigh* Sorry, but the whole reason I bought the original (and I love it, don't get me wrong) was that it was full of older monsters. I won't get this for the same reason I haven't bought the majority of monster books... I just don't need more new monsters..

Sorry guys...

I don't think so amigo. There were many, many monsters from Dragon and other sources not tapped in the Tome of Horrors. I know that from my old Dragon Creature Collection and of course the Dragon's Bestiary, that there are many more creatures to go.

Easily the best monster book out there. It's shameful how good the content was compared to others - even "official" books.

Great news, because Necromancer did such a good job with #1. My only concern is that this is going to be yet another project that pushes Bard's Gate into the ground. :(

Seeing as how WotC reneged on the plan wherein the critters Necromancer converted to d20 wouldn't appear in a WotC book, and also seeing as how there was so much carping about "overlap," I don't see why Necromancer would bother trying to convert earlier-edition critters again. I know I wouldn't. It seems like it would be more of a headache than it's worth. Maybe everyone could petition WotC to convert the monsters that have yet to be given the d20 treatment?
