I have to get an Necromancer NPC together quickly and would like a spellbook that includes quite a number of spells not in the players.

I want to have that "what is going on?" "what are we up against?" "Oh &%$&$$!! " effect.

Does anyone have a spellbook for a higher level necromancer that they wouldn't mind shareing??? I only have the PHB so some discription would be necessary for spells outside the book and of course home brew.

Thanks in advance

How quickly is this needed? I'm playing a pure Necromancer in one of the games my group is doing (between 3rd and 4th level spells, I have 13 spells from other schools), and a great deal of it is cobbled together from other sources. Magic of Faerun has a few decent spells, and Beyond the Grave is one of the best necromancy sourcebooks ever...fitting, as it's all necro, all the time. :D

Particular favorites:
Chill Blood - 1st level, does a small amount of damage and stuns victim for 1 round.
Shadow Horror - 3rd level, inflicts minor damage, Str loss, and stuns victim.
Shadow Mastery - 3rd level, reduces the effects of magical healing and makes negative energy effects wielded against the victim both harder to save against and more damaging.
Invigoration of Undeath - 3rd level, gives zombies under the necromancer's control Improved Initiative and removes their partial action restriction.

While it's not a spell, the Death Touch feat from Beyond the Grave is quite nice...for a relatively minor risk, invoke the Death domain ability all you like.....

Make contact if you need more info...not sure how detailed I can get on the boards and all. ;)

Beyond the Grave has lots of yummay spells. One that allows you to Graft Weapons onto your undead, another that coats them in an elemental force giving them a bonus to AC, as well as doing 1d6 points of elemental damage per hit.

Another spell gives you the ability to cast spells through a designated undead (Touch spells, whee! Not to mention using it as a 'window' for area effects).

Also, in Tomb and Blood:
Negative Energy Burst: 3rd level energy burst does 1d8+1/level (cap +10) of Negative Energy in a 20' radius burst. Best for undead bulstering and hurting the Living.
Negative Energy Wave: 4th level, makes undead harder to Turn.

Thanks guys,

Not in the hugest hurry....(I have a few weeks). Thought it would be nice to get a "real " book.

Beyond the grave sounds good.
