Necromantic Druids

Does anyone know of a class (either base or prestige) that would work well with the character concept of a necromancer druid?

There were some druid feats in a dragon magazine that went along with some of the vile stuff from book of vile darkness - one of them was the ability to sacrifice animals to cast divinations.. I don't feel up to looking it up myself, but maybe it will spark someone else's memory and they will tell you where to look.

blighter is also the only undead-related druid prestige class I can think of, but you lose most of your original druidic abilities doing it, and all your undead abilities relate to undead animals, I believe.

I'd forgotten about the Blighter...unfortunately I'm looking more for a druid with a necromantic twist rather than a bizarro world opposite day druid that cribs a lot of the druid's style for the sake of destroying nature. What I'm looking for is still a treehugging hippy type...the main difference being in how far he'll go to protect the forest.

In that case, go Wizard (or Dread Necromancer) / Druid / Arcane Heirophant.

Side note: necro-druid is kind of a tough trick to pull off, thematically. 'Respect nature' and 'thumb your nose at nature by making undead' are usually pretty opposed concepts.

children of winter from eberron are somewhat death druids...there all about death and decay but normal druids othere then that....there was a class or something of the like in a dragon a few years back i'll see if i can round it up

Your God will just HAVE to be Wee Jas (LN druids? Sure, why not). :)

Check the PHB, dude. LN druids are core.

OP: Don't forget to check Complete Divine and PHB II for some off-beat Druid spells like Infestation of Maggots.

MEG's Blight Magic (Ronin Arts sells the pdf) has one or two PrCs along those lines. In fact they are the only ones I can think of for a druid that still protects nature while using necromancy. And they are even more twisted than than bog-standard antidruid.

Since making normal undead might not work so well for a Druid, see if you can research a spell to make Yellow Musk Zombies (MM2 or maybe FF) - they're all-natural. :p
