Necropolis Question...

First Post
When looking at the OGC section of Necropolis (great book, BTW), I noticed that it said that the majority of the text was the property of WOTC. How's that work, wasn't Mythus published originally under Gary's post-TSR imprint (Hekaforge)? Was this some sort of fallout from the "infringement" lawsuit?

Just curious.

Necropolis was originally published under the Dangerous Journeys banner, a RPG Gygax released through GDW. TSR promptly sued and eventually the matter was settled out of court, with TSR buying all the remaining DJ stock. It was one of the nails in TSR's coffin. Sice WotC bought all of TSR's properties, it makes sense they now own the Dangerous Journeys game. So for Necromancer to publish a 3e version of Necropolis, they would have had to license it from WotC.

So yes, kinda. :)
