Need A Class Idea

Phoenix19

First Post
I'm playing a 3.5 edition of D&D and my character is as follows
Goliath
STR-22
DEX-14
CON-18
INT-15
WIS-10
CHA-10
He is currently built as a fighter, but I'm thinking of making something different, but i want to stay with the Goliath race.
There is a cleric, rogue, and spell-caster in the group with me. I have most of the 3.5 books.
Any ideas are appreciated.

That was something i was looking at but would it really go with the group?
The cleric is focused on healing and buffing, and the rogue is a gnome, so it will be a weak melee character. Spell-caster will probably be really stupid because of the players intelligence.

The druid is only weak in melee if you don't know how to play the class right.

Edit: Unless you were saying that the rogue would be weak in melee.

Yeah the gnome is pretty weak, and i don't really think i could play a druid, the DM depends a lot on role playing the character and i don't think i could do the whole "one with nature" aspect of the character. I was thinking something more upfront and in your face like the goliath race. Counting kills and always trying to better his own achievements.

But not a barbarian, friend played a goliath barbarian and i'm not a fan of the Rage with the barbarian

I saw a class called Grappler, the class is obviously based around grappling, which goliaths can be considered large creatures when grappling.
They have an attack bonus equal to that of a fighter. I thought it was a interesting class and it would be beneficial being a goliath.
Any thoughts or comments?

If everyone else plays poorly and you play well... you may end up making the others feel irrelevant because you will be kicking ass up and down the Sword Coast while everyone else... does not.

The only solution is to help everyone become much better. Hurrah, and lashings of ginger beer for everyone.

Grappling isn't a very good tactic outside of some specific situations, mainly due to the fact that other creatures will end up dealing more damage in a grapple than you will. Also, there are many things that are immune to being grappled.

As for suggestions... Hulking Hurler? War Hulk?

With that intelligence you might consider Warblade, which is like a fighter but better, with more skills and more flashy stuff you can do. Tome of Battle: The Book of Nine Swords has details on it. hell it even has some grapply stuff if you take some Stone Dragon maneuvers.

Seconding Duskblade.

Also- possibly with some minor stat rearrangement- suggesting Beguiler or Battle Sorcerer. You could also go PsyWar. With a PsyWar, you'd take the Goliath's Powerful build to use an oversized weapon...then with the Expansion Power, you boost that base damage even higher.

He might also make an interesting Sword & (Spiked) Board TWF Ranger or Monk. With the former, he'd have the benefit of oversized weapon damage from his primary weapon and bigger spikes. With the latter- again, with rearranged stats- he'd have a high Str, Dex, Wis and Con (that's how I'd order his stats). That, either going traditional Monk builds or going with a Polearm & Combat Reflexes monk, could be fun.
