Need a con within 6 hours of Little Rock

Rolla, Mo. is probably stretching the 6 hour drive.

Kansas City has CRAP for cons. (Yes, you heard that right, KCRPG). There are two, run by the same folks - ShaunCon, and Thundercon. The latter being the more lame of the first one. ShaunCon is held in the fall, and Thundercon is held in the summer. The last one was held at a mall, if that gives you any indication of the quality.

The cons up here are almost exclusively RPGA cons - ConQueso in Tulsa is that way, and so is the one in Rolla. St. Louis is supposed to be able to put on a pretty decent con, I think.

There is also a convention in Branson - BransCon, I think, and I think it might be heavily RPGA influenced, as well.

But, Little Rock to K.C. is probably an _easy_ 7 hour drive, if not closer to 8, especially since the cons up here normally are held in the northern part of Kansas City.

There might be some cons in south-eastern Texas; there are a few college towns there, but I'm not familiar with any from that area.

Rockcon was lots of fun. It was my first con but it seemed reasonably well organized and anyone looking for a game found one. If you're close to Little Rock you should check it out next year. They don;t have much info up on their website for thi year yet but here's the link.

Thanks a lot D12. I am actually IN Little Rock currently, and just lost a really great D&D group to real life issues. Ill def. make it there next year!

d12, alsih20 has covered this, but let me echo the Midsouthcon in March in Memphis. We just had a smaller con, ShadowCon, last weekend, where gaming was enjoyed by many as well.

I am also a member of a Memphis-area based gaming club (FORGE) that meets once a month (at least). We cover RPGA (Living Greyhawk primarily) and other D&D games. If you're up to the drive please join us sometime, we'd be glad to have you.

And anybody else round that way, same to you!

Midsouth Con looks awesome except for the fact that this spring is pretty hectic. But I'm gonna keep it in mind for next year. I may just be forced to take a couple days off work in July and go to GenCon....

:)

Steelcon is held in Stillwater Oklahoma....more than 6 hours i think....nope....according to Mapquest its 6 hours and 42 minutes away! well its a small Con but very popular for this area. i thinkits due to be held in late March.
