Need a few more operations for base classes

First Post
I'm finally getting a chance to run D20 Modern with my group now. To ease into it, I'm putting together a cast of pre-generated characters for the players to pick from. The characters are all part of a privately funded orginization, who recieve missions via computer dispatch and a few middle men.

My end goal is to get one or two characters for each of the base classes. Everyone's starting at level 3.

This far, I have:
Small Arms Specialist (Fast)
Sniper (Dedicated)
Unarmed Combat Specialist (Strong)
Negotiatior(Charismatic)
Medic(Dedicated)

Does anyone have any other ideas for roles with the base classes within a group? And, for that matter, does anyone know of a set of skills that goes well with the smart's ability to get past a lock? And how about a "Tactical planning" setup? Or, if you've just got some fun base characters to share, I'd love to see them too.

Edit: Oh, and may I add that, in a perfect situation, each of the characters would be interesting to play, and at least marginally useful in combat.

Demolitions and Electronics geek. The guy who opens the locks, hacks the computers, and mixes a mean homemade pipe bomb (but cant lift his own weight or talk to people because he is such a recluse). Give him far shot, and the other players will appreciate his molotov-and-dynamite-throwing skills.

Don't forget the strong hero, a generalist able to shoot or beat up anyone who stands in the way (strong heading for soldier).

A fast hero driver/pilot can be handy.

Okay, let's start at the top.

I'd make the sniper a tough or tough/dedicated. Why? Because it's the only way to get the Concentration skill, which is the requirement for the Dead Shot advanced class from MPC (1 or 2, no sure).

Unarmed Combat specialist, yeha, strong works, maybe strong/fast (needs to be able to dodge, no?).

Negotiator, yep, straight charismatic. Best way to go.

Medic, yep, dedicated is the best way to go, but you might think about taking emergency services as an occupation, and go with a different class, so as to diversify, and become a combat medic.

Okay, now for the new ones...

Transporter, s/he'd be a fast hero headed for the Transporter advanced class from MPC, but also have the ability to repair, as well as navigate.

Demo man, I've always liked these, and the best way is smart hero. S/he can also take the plan talent, and have k/tactics to be a strategist.

Actually, with the flexibility of the occupation system, you've got more options than you might think:

Burly locksmith who can find a way through anything, including his enemies: Strong Hero, Adventurer Occupation: Escape Artist and Disable Device, Permanent Class Skills

Former marine-based soldier and crack shot: Fast Hero, Rural Occupation: Swim and Survival, Permaskills

A world-travelled face-man who can take it for longer than they can dish it out: Tough Hero, Entrepreneur Occupation: Bluff, Diplomacy Permaskills

A captain who can inspire his troops with his speeches, or with his ability to get to his foes over tough terrain: Charismatic2/Strong1 Hero (with Leadership Talents), Athletic Occupation: Climb, Balance, Tumble Permaskills -- the last level of Strong Hero is pure minmaxyness. If you're a military unit, it's nice to have a BAB of better than +1.

Awesome! Consider that snagged.
Thanks!

Hm. Both seem pretty good. Thanks for the help!

What's MPC?

Unarmed Combat specialist, yeha, strong works, maybe strong/fast (needs to be able to dodge, no?).

I'm not sure if fast is necessarry for that. I'm thinking more Bruce Lee than Jackie Chan. But it is a lot of defense....

Negotiator, yep, straight charismatic. Best way to go.

Good thought. There are only a couple of potential combats, but if they happen, everyone will be involved.

I'm not so worried about future progression for this game, so the templates are built one sided. Even if we did continue it, I have the feeling that everyone would want to roll out their own characters.

Demo man, I've always liked these, and the best way is smart hero. S/he can also take the plan talent, and have k/tactics to be a strategist.
