Need a wizard slayer..

How would I turned a 3rd level fighter into a wizard killer?

I'd played this online game awhile back, and in the next-to-the-last scenario, the wizard and my fighter got into a disagreement. That ass casted sleep on my fighter, tied him up, and shoveled cow poo on him.

Months later, we're talking about re-starting the game. So, how would I turn a fighter into a machine of magical destruction? Items, PrCs, ect. We're going to fast forward a few years/levels, I believe. Dunno how many just yet.

It's not necissarily to beat down the party wizard, but bad guy wizards as well.

I think the first step would be save feats. Iron Will, Great Fortitude, and Lightning Reflexes. Luck of Heroes out of FRCS gives +1 to all 3 saves. Converting to Paladin would really pump up those saves as well. Perhaps one of the alternate paladins from Unearthed Arcana would suit you better. High dex as defense against those ray spells. Other than that all I can suggest is movement type feats to help you close on the caster as fast as possible. A PRC with Luck to reroll any failed save would really be helpful.

At this level, you don't need anything. Just move up to him, grapple him, and it's over. ;)

We're fast forwarding a few years and levels. Us (the players) have been kept in the dark about how many time a week or so away. The guy playing the wizard sent me an IM to gloat about the poo... :(

Gain a couple levels in sorcerer or wizard, should make him quite for a bit, especially if you can cast simple spells to save yourself while going nuts with your weapon(s). ;) (I mean, who didnt just see the fighter cast {Expeditious Retreat}, {Enlarge Person}, and {Obscuring Mist}.)

3 levels in the hexblade class (CW) always seemed like the no-brainer mage killer to me. You get to add cha to all saves, and take no damage on a successful save against fort. and will saves for "half" or "partial". And, if you take the feat Force of Personality from complete adventurer, you can use cha for will saves instead of wis (twice, including the previously mentioned ability), and allowing wis to become a dump stat. Best part is, you lose absolutely no BAB progression. For uber-saving cheesiness, 2 levels in rogue or monk for evasion will add nicely, albeit costing a point of BAB. If this were an evil game, it might even be fun to go into the blackguard PrC to get your cha bonus added to your saves a second time, if your DM would actually allow that.
