Need an adventure that meets some specific criteria

There's an old adventure, B5 Horror on the Hill, that comes to mind. Might take a little converting, but it definitely meets your requirements.

Hmmm. I'd say Hidden Shrine of Tomoachan, if you can find a copy. (I may have misspelled Tamoachan there, I'm not sure.)

A really fantastic 3rd party 3.0 module is Of Sound Mind. Our own Piratecat wrote it, and man, it has one of the most satisfying concluding scenes of any module I've run.

For our groups first D&D excursion in 20 years, I converted Coppernight's Hold - which was in the 4e Dungeon Delve book - 3 small fights... and the DDI added another 4 in Dungeon Magazine to that. All total it was 7 fights and a little bit of role playing with NPCs between encounters. It also has a skill challenge for the players if you wanted to run it and do a puzzling play for the kids. They're 1st level fights, so the combat isn't overly involved and I thought it worked as a good introduction to the metrics and the idea of combat. It was very straightforward backstory and a single in and out mission. Or, if you have access to the Dungeon Delve book and/or DDI, both are full of small adventures for all levels - you just have to convert them. If you don't have access but your PC has Adobe.... there's always a way... PM me.

Thanks again to everyone for all of the suggestions. It is great having thousands of choices, but it does make it a little hard to sort the wheat from the chaff.

Read the reviews for any products you might be interested, though older products might not have reviews. All the modules I've posted have glowing reviews by Endzeitgeist, one of the major ones. Check out Endzeitgeist.com for all his reviews, perhaps comb through those products to find one that best fits your needs. A good review separates the wheat from the chaff for you.

Here's an adventure that scales and has done very well over the years. It can start off quite simply and has lots of RPing opportunities. If they wander off in this mini sandbox, you can scale up the later portions should they return a bit tougher than when they started.
