Need Class Suggestions

First Post
As many of you have read I have had my rogue bard from sneak attacks because the DM feels that rogues shouldn't be allowed to deal more damage then a fighter or paly.

So now I'm looking for new ideas for a class to play and I have been having trouble thinking of something to play.

I'm looking for a build that meets a few requerments:
1st I would be lv5
2nd It needs to stay close to the players handbook because anything else needs his approval but other books are allowed.
3rd I want it to seem deceptively weak to average but be powerful and make him rethink his sneak attack ruling

Things that the DM has ruled:
1st It can't be a rogue because that would defeat his ruling that I can't flank with my rogue
2nd he has bared Scoots because they are to similar to rogues
No bluffing in combat
No sundering
I can't take the feats that increase your size when applying damage
3rd without alot of convincing I can only use PH races
4th we use group init so no improve init feat
5th casters in my game don't need materials

Thank you in advance for any suggestions. This is driving me insane and I want to drive this DM insane.

Sounds like a DM problem to me.

I'd probably play a Human Factotum/Iaijutsu Master if I was looking to bug the DM, but it sounds to me like you should just give up and play a Druid and cheese out completely since your DM seems to be of the opinion that only spell-casters should be allowed good things (and yes, I know that charge is bandied aroudn too often, but this seems to be a clear case) and is going to simply disallow anything that's even tier 3 for a martial class.

No flanking? No feinting? No sundering?
I know the perfect class: "Running a D&D Game 101" is a class this DM clearly needs to take.

Oh, you mean a class for your PC! In that case, I'll second Dandu's suggestion. There's nothing like a sorceror to mess with a DM. Or else second Celebrim's suggestion, and go with a druid.

The problem I foresee is that the DM will just force-gimp those classes, too, when you show how they even more effective than the rogue. I really think the DM needs a little schooling on how to handle things more elegantly and/or graciously. Showing him up will just make the problem worse. Good luck, though.

I'd find a new gaming group, or start my own group with the rest of the players and bar your DM friend from participating.

I still like the suggestion from the last thred. Be a dwarven cleric. Heal bot for the first level or two to lull the DM into a false sense of security while you accumulate spells and feats. Then bust out the whoopin' stick.

If you can get away with it... Gnome Beguiler and try to sneak in Shadowcraft Mage. =)

Or if you really want to wreck your DMs day, go artificer. At first blush the Artificer isn't an amazing class... but it can be crazy potent.
