Need help creating a character

Thanks for all the input guys and/or gals. I think I will go with Cleric partly because the party needs it and partly because that is maybe the only char I haven't played in my years of d&d. Again, thanks for the thorough response.

*smirks* Not surprised. No one played cleric back in 2nd edition. Heck even I, the man that played most rangers, paladins and the clerics, think 3rd edition clerics are MUCH better than before. Btw let us know how this turns out.

There's no Rogue in your party. Play a dwarf rogue, name him Knuckles, and give him a Crossbow.

Seriously, though, if you're so inclined, I'd go Rogue. They can be tons of fun, and if you're good at tumbling (this might change in 3.5), you can flank pretty easily and get sneak attack bonuses.
