Doing it as a find-a-word thingy, I see the words
ever
ancestor(s)
hand
you(r)
while
demand
hit
and of course small words like (to, of, in, the). Without knowing anything about the context of the puzzle, it's hard to figure out.
I feel like the guy in piratecat's game that came up with "Dread Night Snos". That "first letter of the words" thing is the right track, I think. I'm getting something like:
never
will
we
s
to
e
demand
while
the
b
of
our
ancestors
ran
in
your
hand
Which isn't right, and I can't make it work. The "hammer fall" could refer to dwarves, which could make this work really nicely if, maybe, the word "elven" appeared in the puzzle, but it doesn't. I see the word "elen", which, if it was supposed to be "elven", means the whole puzzle is screwed up and no wonder you can't solve it. I can't get a workable 's' or 'b' word anywhere, which is another thing that makes me think the puzzle might be screwed up, or maybe I'm missing something. I see "slive", which may have been meant to be "slave", and could by another indication of error in puzzle construction.
I'm pretty sure I'm onto something here, because of the rythym of the sentence this way, and demand and hand make a nice internal rhyme.
