It sounds pretty reasonable, that you have to just locate the seventeen starting letters (seventeen removed (seperated from the whole)) within the puzzle and then see what words are possible by reading from that letter onward in some direction (all 8 directions obviously work).

So, as some have already started here, the first step is to find every possible word with the corresponding starting letters (W is easy, since there are only 3 options - we, will and while).

Second step is to form possible sentences out of those words using the order which is given by the seventeen starting letters.

It's reasonable to assume, that never is the first word, since it is conveniently written at the beginning and in natural direction.

It's probably also reasonable to assume that no word is used twice, tho single letters must be (obviously, looking at W), since there are exactly three Ws in there (not a proof, but a hint).

No idea what the X and the . means, tho, maybe some hint related to the first puzzle?

So...

N W W S T E D W T B O O A R I Y H

Never will we succumb to evil's demand while the blade of our ancestors rests in your hand.

Tadaa! :D

What I meant with my previous post is: isn't forming this sentence only the first part of the riddle? "Seventeen removed" made me think that you should for example erase the used letters, and the remaining ones would form a word or another sentence to go on in the adventure, something like "remove the candle on the left", and doing so may open up the secret door. Or is it instead over already? :)

I think I answered that in the first paragraph, and I don't think your idea hits it. ;)

It's deliberately misleading, it's a riddle after all. With "removed" they mean "highlighted" (by seperating them from the whole, but not actually removing them, since they are still in there).

Ok, but then what are you going to do with the sentence? Speak it out loud? Return it to the wizard and get the prize? :p

Find the statue of an ancestor holding a sword, destroy the sword with a hammer, and it will reveal the next crest.

That's my guess, anyway.

Hi everybody,
I think the sentence is right.
Perhaps there's a HAND (17. word) somewhere that can be removed.
Removing all the words from the table just leaves senseless chars (with these "X" and ".").

Just my 2 cents
