First Post
i recently noticed that the archmage can give up to a total of +6 spell power and if u combine this with the Red wizard of thay's +5 spell power bonus u could end up with some nasty nasty spells. My problem is that Thayans arnt looked at in a positive light almost anywhere except in Thay.

Albiet i look forward to roleplaying a Chaotic Neutral red wizard i was wondering if thiere was another pres class taht i could take in order to get a broaded rage of spells and a more welcome character.

Also red wizard has to double spec in one school so loses a sheet load of other schools.

Anyhoo thanx for the help ahead of time :)

well it's not Spell Power but Elemental Savant gives you Elemental Focus (up to +3 at 8th level).

i only own WoTC books and that is all ive noticed.

It's a powerful ability given to very few prestige classes. You won't find it many places. I'd suggest just making up a new class, probabnly be the easiest.

perhaps simply extending the archmage pres class to a 10 lvl class? and add spell power +4 for an 11th lvl slot and spell power +5 for an 13th lvl spot?

lol not sure i think my brain may have snaped ehhe

FateSpinner.

You accumulate spin going against the scrubs that villians always surround themselves with. Then you use that in the big battle against the main opponent(s). You use Resist Fate to try that SR caster level roll again if you failed. You also use your Fickle Finger of Fate to undo a successful saving throw.

Good character type to have along when you will have to go against a dragon or something.

Sure, it isn't an always active bonus to DC. Thing is, you can bump it when it is needed the most.

The problem comes when it isn't a good roll that made the save, it was good saves. In that case Spell DC becomes even more important if you don't want to see your turn come around four times with cast, save, nothing happens, next, <twiddle thumbs>.

Course, Sultans of Smack will show you plenty of ways to raise DC's. You don't have to use all of them. Just grab enough to where you feel comfortable that you can be effective even against the big baddy's saving throws occasionally.

Or you can switch to buffs or indirect spells or spells without saves for that combat... Assuming you have the spells known/prepared to be that spread out...
