need Star Wars help for Swashbucklers

If anyone could tell me how the Wound and AC bonus works in WOTC's Star Wars, that would be great. I'm thinking of using them in my Swashbuckling Adventures game, to discourage the use of armour even more.

Armor provides DR, but only to attacks that cause wound damage., Armor does not provide any AR booste. Wounds are equal to one's Con, and it's basically like neagtive HP. So instead of going to -10, one can go to negative con.

They used to have it equal to the base reflex save +2. Now, the patterens are a little different and they mixed and matched them.

i do think VP/WP would work well in a Swashbuckling Adventures game. i've thought about this some since one of the guys i game with really likes swashbuckling-type characters

using WP would reflect a dangers of playing with pointy sticks and firearms :D

Ya, I'm thinking about using it in TW myself.

i think it makes any combat more dangerous, or at least has the most potential for danger.

this also can eliminate the idea that someone with a bunch of hit points (or vitality) could 'meta think' they could survive any situation. ("i'm surrounded by 12 people with with crossbows, but i know i have enough hit points to survive..." -- or whatever)

Right. There's a story in which Jubal is almost killed by a bunch of street urchuins, literally they would be 8-12 years old 0 or first level commoners. In straight D&D terms Jubal would have destroyed them, but not in the story. The only way he lived was he was rescued by a Hellhound. Great story, and well drawn out in the comic.

Yeah, it's a problem with the "armour = AC" idea. I simply want to discourage PCs from wearing armour unless it makes sense for them to do so (during wartime, etc.). I don't agree with the "armour is completely useless it's Dracheneisen" view of the original 7th Sea rpg -- let's face it, the idea's nonsense -- but by the pike-and-shot era which 7th Sea/SA is replicating, most soldier's didn't wear much. Having armour be a bloody nuisance, but reducing the likelyhood of fatal wounds, makes a lot of sense for the milieu.
