One time I admitted I was a nerd in front of my wife, and she said she never thought of me as a nerd. "I always thought nerds were smart," she said.

I'm with your wife. I proudly proclaim myself to be a geek but not a nerd cause, as I tell people who ask what the difference is, I'm not smart enough to be a nerd.

Everytime I wear my comicbook shirts at age 39 I am labeled as a nerd instead opf one that refuses to grow up.
