I had a little bit of a heartbreak when I learned the voice of Venger is also the voice of Eeyore for the last 15 years... how can you feel the terror when you know he's worrying about where his tail is?

And sure, he has some redeeming parts...Nemesis Enforcer (G.I. Joe - The Movie), Optimus Prime (Transformers), Gremlins - all of them (Gremlins)... but then you have voices from Monchichis, Snorks, Rainbow Brite, My Little Pony... even Sonny and Cher!

D&D just seems so fake now!

The problem for me has always been that once I know who is doing the voice, I can't hear anything but -that person- and it is no longer a character voice, but that actor's voice.

Do you have a link to the reference? I never would have guessed Optimus Prime is Venger.

That's Peter Cullen, an awesome voice actor. Real tall old man in a cowboy hat.

Actually, I've become keenly aware of various voice actors - and it surprises you to find out who certain ones are. I can usually recognize someone's voice talent and whether they have done other work.

The only two that surprised me over time were Kathy Najimy who regularly does Peggy Hill on King of the Hill, and Tim Curry who does Nigel Thornberry on the Wild Thornberries. I'm waiting for an episode where Nigel dresses in a bustier and garters.
