Neverwinter CG contains four new Warpriest (diety-based) domains

Okay, let's use Tempus for example. Say there's the Warpriest "Tempus" domain in the book. And, upon examination, everything in the class abilities granted by Tempus reads that it's the War domain.

Then call it War. Why go through the trouble of:

  1. Creating a list of domains
  2. Mapping the list of domains to the deities of the major settings
If you're just going to make up new "domains" named after the deities? That would be like saying, "There are four kinds of Sentinels - Winter, Summer, Spring, and Autumn. Here are spring and summer," then in Heroes of the Feywild say, "Here's a new Sentinel build. It's the feytouched Sentinel."

WTF? Try giving us Winter and Autumn first. Don't create a design space, then intentionally leave it empty while you go off dreaming new stuff up.

I mean, what's next? Giving us race stats for bunk like wildren and shardminds before kobolds? ;)

Personally, when you have a class built around the idea of having different class features keyed off of domains and have far more domains without options available to that class, I'd think it was a better design idea to, I don't know, finish designing all of those domains before you go making brand new ones up.

Just saying.

(Player: Sweet, I want to make a warpriest of Erathis that focuses on her aspect of a patron of civilization! DM: Sorry, sun, storm, earth, or death only. Here, the church of Pelor would like you to read this pamphlet about what the Bible really teaches...)
Re: Erathis: you go with Sun (the more "leader-y" of the available domains), claiming that it represents Erathis as the shining beacon of civilization.
