The Artificer in the playtest article is an Arcane Leader.
The Bard which is coming out in PHB2 has been confirmed as an Arcane Leader a bunch of times. In fact between the PHB1, PHB2, FR Player's Guide, and Eberron Player's Guide we'll end up with something like 6 arcane classes.

Let's pretend I never said that, since I said in other contexts that I would guess the artificer to be an arcane leader.

Amazing how many people are sad about this, despite something that's already been mentioned in this thread:

Eberron is the campaign setting in 09. Psionics are highly integrated into Eberron. Thus, Psionics need to be out before Eberron is going to work.

So if Psy is not in the PHB2, then they'll get it out there somehow else.

My guess is that they will do Eberron without psionics (remember, it was designed so the psionics were easily avoidable if the DM so chooses). When the psionics rules are introduced in 2010 they will include the Kalashtar/Inspired with key sections in the book(s).
