New 300 trailer

The release date is March 9, 2007 by the way...

That happens to be my birthday. I will be turning 34 and I think I will treat myself to this movie.

I agree with your assessment, Mistwell, of the movie and how it will perform. I liked Sin City and have it on DVD, but then I was already a fan of Rodriguez. I am not expecting academy awarding winning performances out of 300 but a fun two hours.

Storm Raven, what for you would qualify was a good movie trailer, and please give examples.

I thought the trailer looked awesome and I will definately see movie at the theater. I am not looking for historical accuracy, I am looking to enjoy myself for a couple hours. Like another poster said if I wanted historical accuracy I would read a history book. This movie is not being billed as a histroical account so I am not sure why people are getting hung up on the fact that it is not historicaly accurate.

the only reason I got hung up on historical accuracy is b/c I didn't pay attention to detail ... just the name ... oops :)

I'm on the fence. I liked Sin City the first time I saw it, but it didn't hold up to a second viewing. For me, once I got past the style and momentum, the flaws and cracks became near unbearable. I suspect this may be the same -- a good visceral experience in the theater best left unexamined. That said, I'm really not a fan of Miller's comics, either.

What really bugs me is that this is a great story that would have been well served by a more serious treatment that it won't get now.

There is the 300 spartans . Of course, viewed now it's clearly a ploitical statement on the Cold War ;)
