Have they totally written out that part or has it just not ben emphasized in the trailers?
It's just not emphasized in the trailers.

In the graphic novel, the Spartan King arrives with his 300 and proceeds to take charge of the meager Greek forces massing at the Thermopylae.

Leonidas: I'll take command. I have more soldiers.

Greek Dude: You have 300 men. I have 1000.

Leonidas (turning to a follower of Greek Dude): You, Greek 01. What's your profession?

Greek 01: I'm a farmer, my lord.

Leonidas: And you, Greek 02?

Greek 02: I'm a herder, my lord.

Leonidas (turning to his men): SPARTANS! WHAT IS YOUR PROFESSION?

Spartans raise their spears as one.

Leonidas (turning to Greek Dude): I have more soldiers.

I did not like Sin City at all, with the exception of Jessica Alba, but that's me, so it was worth seeing once, and I did like the some aspects of it, but the constant thinking commenting just erked me to no end. If they would have left it out, the movie would have been cool to me.

This looks like a good movie. I will go see 300 when it comes out in theaters.

I must be the only geek in the universe that thinks this movie's gonna stink to high heaven and will be avoiding it like I avoided the two D&D movies... I just do not see the appeal.

I'm with you. It looks like something that pro wrestling would be embarrased to call its own, and pro wrestling has unbelievably low standards.

Also really overlooks that fact that it wasn't just 300 Spartans - 700 Thespians stayed to fight with them. Not exactly fair to leave them out - they were just as brave in this instance, staying to fight and die while the other Greeks fled.

Even just counting Spartans, you had a lot more than three hundred. 300 hopolites means about twice that once you include pages, support troops, ect.

I'm really looking forward to this movie. I'm not really the type to get hung up on historical accuracy in movies; I'd rather see an entertaining movie than an accurate one. If I want accuracy I'll dive into my history books.

I've always wanted to read this series and I think I should do so before this flick comes out. Looks cool though; I like the fantastic elements to the story and the visual style really seems to compliment that aspect.
