D&D 4E New 4e Monsters

thanks!

anyways I am doin my bets to get more stuff up, but I have two projects going at once. There is this and my Dhum work that I am doin with my father. Of the two the Dhum stuff needs more work as of right now and I will be workin on that more for the next few days. But worry not! I have begun the section on Hastur and will be including Byakhee in this section or just in general along whith him and will have the updated version ASAP.

Ok so I got version six of my Creature Creations up and it includes an entry on Hastur. This includes the great old one, his aspect, the chosen of hastur, a template to make a chosen, and finally a member of the brotherhood of the yellow sign. The encounter groups portion is incomplete but will be completed at the same time as when I have completed the byakhee entry. I have a to-do list going and have worked out an order of things to-do as well and this is located below.

TO-DO

1. Byakhee entry and final touch on Hastur : these are the flying aberrant insect-like minions of the king in yellow
2. Watcher in the Water : the guardian of decrepid moria in LotR, this will be made as an aditional abomination entry like those in the MM
3. Spider-Goblins : my own idea/creation, a race of mutate goblins with an extra set of arms, the ability to spider climb, and large sharp fangs
4. Tsathoggua : another old one from the Cthulhu mythos which will include formless spawn and probably a sorcerer-priest
5. whatever is next suggested (possibly the half deep one aka innsmouth variety deep one of mid-mutation)

thanks guys any game-time feed back would be great!

Great stuff, Crowley42 -- this will definitely see some use and I'll let you know how it goes. I detect a certain Delta Green influence w/ regards to Hastur (which is cool).

As I read through your stats, a few things here and there surprise me but that's good. Nothing says this has to be a clone of CoC, after all. If I'm surprised, my players are certain to be as well. :)

Thanks for taking requests, Crowley. Looking forward to more.

Hey thanks for giving me ideas. Can't wait to see the results of someone else using these stats so I can see what else may need adjusting. I am also hoping to get the Byakhee up tomorrow before I take off for the weekend as well. Until then and through the weekend leave me with more ideas so far I believe this is ~20 pages with a good +10 to-do. Not lookin to stop this project till I hit 100 pages so ideas are welcome. May do some Star Wars related things as well that would fit in nice in D&D, such as the Acklay from Episode II and things liek that, but keep those requests, comments, and such commin.

Thanks all!

OK so noone bumped this thread for two months including myself and for good reason. No new monsters :(. But I have returned after a blown video card capacitor, fried motherboard, and a long awaited bit of extra cash my computer is finally fixed and ican access and get back to work on all the D&D stuff I was doing.

Of note are two things I shall be incorporating into the to do list. Both are entries to include swarms. The first is the tooth fairy based on the Hell Boy II movie. I liked those little buggers alot. Second is a more goofy but relatively scary creature if ever actually met: the wolpertinger. A little non-combat pet from world of warcraft this thing is a rabbit with small wings and antlers, large fangs, and a nasty attitude. Imagine a swarm of those coming for you!

Anyways classes have started but I will be trying my best to get back into the swing of things and get out an updated version soon!

sorry!

Once again I shamelessly bump my own misbegotten thread, but for the last time. With the coming out of a monster creator on the D&D site I have gone through all of my creations thus far to tweak to more appropriate rules. Elites have been improved to elite status. Powers have been tweaked (strengthening and weakening) to fit level stats better, ability scores have been greatly adjusted. Anyways after much too long I will be coming out with an updated version which will include some house rules.

this will include a prototype energy substitution feat for arcane casters and a wound system based of the star wars saga edition rules. my one (and soon to be a few) templates will be given its own section as well.

Look for the new thread and pdf soon called UNDER THE BLUE MOON.

Thanks guys!

Now if you are talking good or interesting Cthulhu monsters, I thought the ghasts from DreamQuest of Unknown Kadath were good, as they were described as kangaroo like (jumping might be a good attribute to challenge a party with logistically). Always annoyed me how ghasts in 1e were just stronger ghouls. Now AFAIK ghasts have gone so can be replaced by a more cthulhoid variant :)
Cheers
Cas

Sorry about that Wraith. With an extended leave of D&D design absence my 4shared account got taken down. Last week I brought it back up and have a new edition of my homebrew rules in the works. I have fleshed out both a temporary and persistant wounding system (both of which are in need of testing at the table), I have also edited EVERY monster within the original document to better match the Wizard's creations using their monster creator bonus tool as a guide. I am hoping to add at least two feats I need to make before my next session as well as a ritual before posting the new edition of this document.

I shall do this within the week and I hope all of you can find the time to check it out and give me some feed back. This weekend is also the first test I shall do so I may edit it more before the post. I look forward to your insights.
