Newspapers? They still have those?

Yep, Phil is one talented guy. He used to be a regular on Mad TV, too.Filby said:Going off on a brief tangent, I had no idea until recently that Green Lantern from Justice League, Jack from Samurai Jack, Static from Static Shock, Black Vulcan from Harvey Birdman, and Hermes from Futurama are all voiced by the same guy, Phil LaMarr. Damn, that guy is versatile and gets around.
That about sums up my AS too.Filby said:I watch Adult Swim just about every night. Not because I'm really into it, but because there's just not anything else on that entertains me.
ATHF is dependant on my mood, but is the only one I like, Mouse, Squid, they're horrible. The detective one is bland too. Harvey Birdman is so-so. Robot Chicken is also great.I don't care for most of their "homegrown" cartoons (Mouse, Squid, ATHF, Hair). ATHF disturbs me, and I just don't have any interest at all in the other ones. Except Harvey Birdman. I drop everything for Harvey.
See, for myself, I found the viewpoints to be stereotypical and bland, they don't bring anything to the table as far as making a point for me. But, besides all that, it's simply not funny. I've watched only 3 episodes, and not once did I crack a smile. I'm not hating the show for it's viewpoints, it doesn't make me mad or anything... I just wonder why it's around as entertainment? IOW, I'm not offended by it, I simply find no value in it.I think that The Boondocks is the highest-quality animated series to come out this side of the Pacific. The animation is worlds better than everything else, and while it does have a great deal of "offensive" material, it's always used as satire, not just thrown out there randomly to offend people like Family Guy does. The show has a point, and that's what matters.
The cards used to be funny, now they've evolved to some place where they seem too ego driven. They serve no purpose anymore IMO.The only thing about The Boondocks I really dislike is the 30-second "bumps" before each episode where the Adult Swim staff sucks up to Aaron McGruder, the show's creator, like a bunch of big sycophants. Bleh.
Futurama is probably my favorite cartoon, but I've seen it so often, it's kind of pointless to watch it again.Futurama: The Boondocks may be better-drawn and better-written, but Futurama is just so much more good-natured. Out of the American-made shows on AS, I like Futurama best. It's always a hoot.
AD has had a couple okay eps, but the voice's are already familiar from FG, and neither show has a wide variety of voices. It's gotten very noticeable.American Dad: I've seen very little of this show, but from what I can tell it's just a politically-pointed retread of Family Guy with slightly different characters and a different premise.
I liked both of these, but the pace was too slow, so I downloaded the episodes and watched through the end of the series. Seshomaru was my favorite, and stories involving him were too sporadic to wait for AS's schedule.Fullmetal Alchemist: My favorite show on the network. Funny, poignant, occasionally thought-provoking, and always entertaining. The show is gold. Transmuted from lead, even.
InuYasha: I dig this show, but only when the plot is moving forward. Most of the time, it's bogged down with episodic "filler" that does nothing to move the story along.
