New Adult Swim -- What do you think?

Why can't they all be as good as Full Metal Alchemist?

I knew exactly who Pride was and they still shock the heck out of me at the end of the episode.

Totally! That end scene was genius. It helped though that I DIDN'T know who Pride was until it was (basically) revealed.

You can't download them to your computer and save them, but if you go to adultswim.com, and click on the link to The Fix, they might have some available. I don't know what their line-up is now. They have a lot of shows there, but I'm not sure if Inuyasha is one of them.

Hi-

Thanks for the link RW but all AS had were the full metal alchemist stuff. Anyway, the reason I asked about Inuyasha downloads was that I saw an earlier posting saying that they had downloaded the series. And this is something I would like to know how is done.

That post may have been when they were featuring the episodes to view online, but downloading would be a no no since its a commercial series. They have most of the episodes out on DVD, and the fan subs are still out there if you look on the pirate scene but don't ask anyone here to help you pirate a TV show.. that's just not Kosher. I know Best Buy and Amazon both carry the Season Box sets at a reasonable price.

My favorites are ATHF, Venture Brothers, Perfect Hair and Frisky Dingo.

I watch Squidbillies and Metalocalypse and enjoy both, but they're not on my "must see" list.

I can even watch a few episodes of Mouse. If you're in the mood for Twin Peaks drawn by a drunk 4th grader, 12 oz. is the show for you.

The only shows I really dislike are Tom (hate it with a passion) and any of the anime stuff (just don't like it, not for lack of trying).

"Lucy: Daughter of the Devil" looks interesting and should be starting soon.

Toonami just premiered two new series, Prince of Tennis and MAR. I could swear that they only just started last week, but PoT aired "Episode 4" this week and I had no idea what was going on on MAR. Did they air other episodes I missed or did someone screw up at CN?

Actually, I've gotten the impression that most people think Williams Street needs to stop making in-house comedy shows. On that count I particularly agree with Demiurge. In fact, anyone who could possibly find Tom Goes to the Mayor funny clearly has tastes so different than mine that I'm not sure we could successfully communicate. It would be like talking to an alien from a distant galaxy, or some Lovecraftian horror out of time.

The home-grown shows are some of their highest rated shows. They are so powerful in the industry that they are cited by the major networks as one of the reasons they are shifting to reality TV and game shows. The core audience is leaving, and a large chunk of the 20-somethings are going to the home-grown adult swim shows.

After just three weeks as an individually rated network, Adult Swim set a new record for the largest weekly total day delivery of men 18-24 in ad-supported basic cable history, according to Nielsen Media Research, for example. Boondocks got the highest-rated series premiere in the five-year history of the network.

And attending International Comic-Con, the crowds wanting to talk to the creators of the in-house shows are so large they were overshadowing actual Hollywood movie star panels.

I don't mean to say your opinion that these shows are not your thing is bad. Just that "most people think Williams Street needs to stop making in-house comedy shows" does not match with what both the industry and the ratings seem to indicate. If anything, they need to make a LOT MORE in-house shows.

I don't know what the title means, but Frisky Dingo is my favorite new show on adult swim, even more so than the anime. The premise banished it to tivo when i first heard about it, but the wife and i watched it over the holiday and we were hooked. I havn't laughed so hard in a long time. I am now inspired to go to a petshop and get a bunch of rabbits.
