New Adventure Path

First Post
It was implied, in the last issue of Dungeon, that a new 'Adventure Path' would come next after the 'The Shackled City - Cauldron series'.

Would you like to see a new adventure path series? How soon would you like to see on published in Dungeon? Any expectations, or wants or don't wants in the next adventure path.

No good ideas right now, but here's a bad idea...

Level 20 adventure:

You're in a tavern with the PCs. The taverkeeper seems to have a rat problem in the cellar. If you clear out the rats, he'll give you 10 gold.

With the current Adventure Path being so wildly popular, it's no surprise that the Paizo people are gearing up for another.

Personally, I think its the details that make it so successful. Things like adding lines for the various auras and sounds with DCs, and the campaign seeds and web enhancements are, to me, what made this one really great. That and they had a single overarching storyline that every adventure dealt with, something WotC's Adventure Path lacked.

That said, given that they want the next Adventure Path to be as widely useable as possible, it's likely to be set generically, and not in the Forgotten Realms or Eberron. That said, I personally wouldn't mind seeing something Greyhawk-specific, but even that's dicey, since the "specific" part means using more than just the "Greyhawk-lite" pantheon; it'd mean specific GH cities, people, events, etc which can alienate some people who don't have the Living Greyhawk Gazetteer or other GH material. Not to mention it'd mean changing, somehow, a world that WotC has made quite clear they want static. There's also the fact that the recent spate of GH "Critical Threat" articles and adventures (such as "Strike on the Rabid Dawn" "Maure Castle" and the upcoming "Isle of Dread" adventure) may make the idea of a GH-specific Adventure Path somewhat overkill on the GH content.

Simply put, it seems like Paizo will probably give us a generic-setting Adventure Path, but given the high caliber material we've seen so far, I still feel confident that they'll make it top-notch.

I'd love to see one, and the sooner the better -- it's a great concept, and from what I've read of Shackled City they did a bang-up job of it. It seems like a great thing for new DMs, and for old hands a good way to get a campaign rolling with minimum effort (and still have room to play around with it).

I feel that the current Adventure Path is great. Sure, I'd like to see another one. It could follow on the heels of the Cauldron series. I would expect it to have as great a story arc and as rich a background setting as Cauldron does. As for changes, maybe fewer dungeon crawls and a few more event-based adventures like "Foundation of Flame". Also, I don't know how feasible it would be, but they should give the DM's a little more of the story up front so that its easier to deal with thier players curiousity in the earlier adventures without spoiling anything for the latter ones.

I'll second Alzirus' praise of the web enhancements and the structure of the adventures. Having downloadable maps and web enhancements for each adventure is a must, IMO.

I hope they don't tie it to Eberron. The Shackled City looks good to me because it's an adventure written for a core game.

Ditto that.

I am a big fan of the Adventure Path concept, and I am currently running the Shackled City, but an Ebberon focused AP would be a serious misstep.

I understand that the mags are closely tied to WotC products, but this would be crossing a "core rules support" line; I think it's too early to do at this time. An Ebberon focused adventure here or there I can live with, but an Adventure Path right out of the gate? I wouldn't be too happy. But hey, that's just me.

I've weighed in....anyone else?
