New and lost.

Hey y'all!

I've recently began looking into WFRP and got really interested, but I'm having a ludicrous amount of hardship on finding more information on the game, like what edition is it? What do I *REALLY* need to play it (i.e understand the setting, the rules, etc...I'll probably be the GM) and, in the name of Asmodeus, where the hell do I buy it?

It just seems to be out of print everywhere! Even at Fantasy Flight! (I'd love some tips on where to buy it online, since I'm in Brazil and we don't have it here...At all.). I say what seems to be a huge boxed set (core set) with four books, lot'sa dices and other stuff, but it's really expensive!

Thanks a lot!!

There are 3 editions. all out of print. 1st ran for many years, under GW and then Hogshead Publishing. It's an alternative to D&D, with careers instead of classes. The magic system was not loved. but the setting is the draw, European grimdark.

2nd ed is a revision with lots of supplements and different magic. also the setting advanced in conjunction with that of the miniatures game. It died a premature death, according to many.

3rd ed. licensed to ffg. it's the expensive box you see. very different from other rpgs and prior editions. Not as widely liked.

I recommend you go with 1st or 2nd. Ask around on other boards for details.

Hi!

I would say that you should buy the second edition (the third was just cancelled and did the system differently than "classic" wfrp. First edition is difficult to get hold of)

Go here:

http://rpg.drivethrustuff.com/browse.php?filters=0_0_44232_0_0

The core rules are available as Print On Demand.

Also pick up the Bestiary.

http://rpg.drivethrustuff.com/produ...tion-Old-World-Bestiary?filters=0_0_44232_0_0

That is only available as a PDF.

Start with that. Then you get a feel for the system and the world.

You can also check out great fan resources. Some are not still updated but contain great stuff:

Good luck!
