Now, I haven't taken the fine toothed comb to this article, but my gut reaction is: the designers see the boards, see the 1e grognard rage, and try to legitimize themselves.

Thing is, there is no time that this article would have been a good time for folks prone to 4EDS (4th edition derangement syndrome). Every slam about it now would have been leveled then.

Eh. I think it would have been less, if people with 4EDS were aware earlier that the designers have deep roots in 1e and aren't "anime kiddies".
