New Article: We're Oldschool, Promise!

Rechan, you're placing too much importance on the internet. I'm sorry to tell you this but not everything revolves around ENWorld. They probably just thought potential buyers of 4e would like to read a bit about the authors of the product. That type of short bio is incredibly common in publishing, I've seen them on other games company sites too.

Eh. I think it would have been less, if people with 4EDS were aware earlier that the designers have deep roots in 1e and aren't "anime kiddies".

...and this is where people speculating about other people's motives gets them in trouble. The designers in question have been playing at least since 1E had a Fiend Folio, if not earlier; They all evinced a love of the game for many years. But if a person immediately jumps to assuming "Oh, my God, they're a bunch of anime freaks who have been playing maybe a decade" or similar, they're really missing out and barking up the wrong tree. Even though they're "innocent until proven guilty," it's sad that there's always netizens willing to lynch 'em on "suspicion of anime tendencies." :)

Kinda like WotC pulling the license to print physical paper copies of Dungeon and Dragon in favor of the Digital Initiative?

Yeah, teh interwebs is just a flash in the pan alright.

I'm hard pressed to think how someone seriously invested in the game such as the aforementioned "grognards" could have gone through the entirety of D&D3e and not read all the comments about how fun the designers had playing D&D as kids.

Assuming that the designers are "anime kiddies" would be wilfully and purposefully disregarding almost everything that's been said by the WotC designers for the last 10 years, IMO.
