For those who are interested, I've uploaded a new version of my calendar generator for TableSmith; you can get the ZIP file at http://www.mythosa.net/TabGallery.html (look for the file "Calendars"). There are only two files in there - one for Earth and one for Mythosa (my campaign world). I wanted to do tables for Greyhawk and the Realms, but I don't have the time; however, if someone wants to convert one of the included files for those settings, I'm more than willing to answer questions and offer advice...
The new calendar generators do most everything the old ones did, though I removed the journal option (I'm not sure if anyone used it, but I know I didn't). The features, both old and new, include:
- Generates standard "grid-style" calendars
- For each day, displays moon phases, sky conditions, high and low temperatures (F), wind speed/direction, precipitation, and holidays
- The month headers display season, totem/zodiac/whatever for the month, and monthly sunrise/sunset times
- Parameters allow you to specify what month to start your calendar in, how many months to generate, starting moon phase information, terrain, and latitude (the last two being used for the weather generation)
- HTML page-breaks so if you print your calendar, you should get one month per page (though if you have a very unusual calendar, YMMV)
You can see a sample I generated for my world at:
http://www.mythosa.net/Temp/SampleCal.html
Since the generators are TableSmith tables, you can customize them however you want - change the number of months, seasons, days of the week, weather info, moon data, etc. They do require knowing a little something about TableSmith; I'd like to write a little helper program in the future that would create the tables for you, but who knows when I'll get the time...
The weather system is based off the one found in the old Greyhawk boxed set (1st Edition). It's not the most extensive weather system in the world, but I've found that for the purposes of my game, it's more than adequate.
Since it may not be obvious to some, I should mention that these calendar generators are not independent programs; you need to run them inside of TableSmith, my shareware table generation tool, for generating names, towns, treasure, calendars, encounters, traps, and whatever else you can think of. TableSmith can be found at http://www.mythosa.net/Utils.html.
