New D&D Miniatures Set - Hmm...

Some of the sculpts are pretty bad, but others look incredible. I saw the Thoon Hulk and Iron Dragon at GenCon and they were fabulous!

I think there's enough there (especially the dragonborn) that I'll be buying several packs.

I don't quite get the bugbear-love WotC has going on. Those guys have a ton of sculpts. Drow do too, but i can see them being used more than bugbears i guess.

Oh man, they Carnage Demon'ed the Girralon! Take a cool looking monster and sculpt him so it looks like he's on the toilet. Or perhaps in this case like he fell off his bike and skinned his knee really badly.

And the corruption corpse! When I first saw it I honestly thought it was supposed to be a piece of dungeon terrain. Some kind of column or something. It really looks like they stopped painting him halfway through.

And it appears the Skull Lord is hiding someone underneath his skirt.

However the blue dragon and thoon hulk both look very cool. And the Drow Demonbinder is something I must have. Too cool.

See, I love the corruption corpse. Very cool and creepy looking. The "lack of paint" adds to that for me, but I don't agree that it isn't painted.

Yes, some of the sculpts are lumpy and bad and lacking detail.

I'm glad to see that Wizards has kept the same style of photography that they've used for the last couple of sets! :hmm:

I mean, nothing brings out a mini like a bright glaring light head on.
Seriously, I can take better pictures than that (and I'm not a photographer).

So, probably, they'll look better live than they do on WotC photos. I can't understand why they present them that way - is it so that noone gets disappointed?
