As @Parmandur said, they have a really nice emulator which allows for playing at reasonable speeds. They also have quality of life options available, running from allowing things in Pool of Radiance that weren't available until later games (like playing paladins and rangers, the Fix option, and memorized spell lists), to light editing (yeah, no one liked 1e level limits, so now you can play your elf to level 40!), to outright cheats (don't want to lose your magic items while travelling through Limbo in Pools of Darkness? Just enable this option!)I have not tried GOG. The last time that I tried to fire up an old Gold Box D&D game the computer was way too fast-- fast even when slowing down the clock.
