New D&D Website

Speaking of the new site - did anyone find new articles that are supposedly up? My RSS feed pick up an article called Word of Traitors, but I can't seem to locate it anywhere, as the link is broken.

Are you kidding me? Next thing you say: "Throwing D&D 4th Edition in my face to the point of honestly being offputting to anyone not playing the game?"
Given that Shemeska doesn't like 4e (or WotC) to begin with, this sort of response is really unsurprising.

I think the new site is the bees' knees. It looks fantastic and everything I need can be reached with a click from the front page. I want to see the forums move towards tighter design like this.

It still surprises me. I don't go to the Mercedes Website and complain it's all about their newest model. (And not, say, about my VW Golf).

But the second point - absolutely agree. The forums look neat, but the organization leaves to be desired.

So you can't be interested in D&D 4 without having a DDI account?

How shall I complain about art recycling when I can't access those galleries?

A few weeks ago, they were trying to sell the same products and it didn't stop them from making the art galleries freely accessible.

On the positive side, I appreciate the fact that they still retained the previous edition material, although it's rather hard to find now.

No. I said this was the next thing, a "step up".

If you wouldn't know, why would you complain? :p

That is interesting though. I remember that the zip-package or something like that was only accessible to subscribes, and you were limited to the mini-previews and their in-site-picture-viewer to see the images.

A more or less direct link somewhere on the page wouldn't be bad, would it? It doesn't have to be at the top in the main view on the page.

They did? It doesn't seem that way to me.

They are clearly marked as D&D Insider subscriber content only, and to non-subscribers like myself, the galleries only show as tiny cropped thumbnails.

It bothers me because for the entire history of 3.0, 3.5, and 4.0 up til now thet allowed people to look through the art gallery and download images for personal use. I'd like to know why they decided to move it all behind the wall. Right now it just seems like a way to pad the "insider content" by removing formerly free content. My guess is that IS the reason.

The 3rd Edition Art Galleries are still free, they are just hard to find.

He just complained about

To justify my contempt for 4th Edition of course. And to justify my love for Pathfinder where art recycling would certainly never happen ;)
Honestly, I just like to look at pretty picture. And 4th Edition has some of them as well.

I might be wrong but I remember the 4th Edition Art Galleries being the same as the 3rd Edition ones, freely accessible for everyone.

It would be nice, but compared to the limitation of the Art Galleries, I find it somewhat understandable that they don't want to advertise outdated material. I had feared that they would remove the content completely when 4th Edition arrived (that's why I archived 'importent' articles like mind's eye), so I really appreciate them keeping those articles even after the second revision of the home page.
