New DDI aps

I think this is new... the DDI has two "bonus tools", an encounter generator and an ability score generator.

They both look pretty good... the encounter generator seems particularly useful.

But I hope that with full DDI Access that the Encounter Generator will include the stats. But it is a great help even without!

I don't know, I can add the numbers in my head just fine. I don't think I need a glorified online calculator for this. Now if it spit out the output with monster stats as formatted text, that would be worthwhile to be able to modify the text as I need (upgrading to Elite, adding/removing powers, etc), and print everything on one page.

Encounter generator looks good. Heck, just the ability to sort the monsters by level/role is very helpful.

What do you guys think of the price?

Basically, they want to charge $5 a month for what we currently have. I.E. The compendium, the encounter generator, the ability generator and the two magazines.

I guess it'll go up to $10/month once we get the game table and the character creator.

I'm still not sure that it's worth it...

I hope they leave that as an option as the other stuff comes on... I'm not sure the character generator and game table would be worth another $5 to me.

I remember reading an article, not too long ago, that said they were looking at something in the $10/month range for the DDI applications.
I would be very surprised if the total per month cost was anything significantly less than $10/month
