New Discussion Thread

lol, this issue touches you.

That being said, I'm sure that MP will get passed within the next few days anyway, I just figured that I would submit him now rather than wait until then, mostly so I can hang out in the tavern and possibly get started on some adventurin'.

Yea ok but that's different than saying "get to this ASAP"

Also, is something funny about an issue touching someone? I'm not a native english speaker so I might have missed an ,ehm, hidden meaning? :heh:

Sessadore, I have to agree on your opinion about the Avenger. I heard of that class and got crazy excited. I saw the pictures of its first page and my mind exploded. I have so many ideas for slightly-off, depraved worshipers of any god dashing across battlefields while screaming Xena-like warcalls as their foe runs away crying for their mother.

I think people are right about the houserules bit. It's a lot less cumbersome to omit something versus changing it. Any kind of rules change is also unlikely to have been tested to any real degree.

I agree with house rules, it isn't my favourite idea as they can get easily confusing, I'm of the opinion that sometihng should be either in or out, not halfway there.

I'm a goober, I was reading one thread and posted in another. :o

Anyway, here's as good as anywhere else I guess, since the point is really a general one anyway.

Oh, come on, winning through impossible odds and surviving by the skin of your teeth is fun! (At least, that's what I'm trying to sell Larinza...)
I like having impossible odds, makes TPK happen... I don't feel really challenged, or lose interest when everything feels cushy and easy...

Hard to sell me anything when I'm unconcious.

I was just thinking, rather than tell each DM we play under our "shopping list" each time we play a new adventure, what if we added a shopping list section to the Character sheets

That way DM's could look when taking on a player and plan to drop an item from the list into the adventure.

Good Idea? Bad Idea?

As a brand newbie to this, I just posted in The Back Room about this exact issue. I would love to see shopping lists!

Your post was actually what brought back some old thoughts in my mind and inspired my post.

Anyone else have any thoughts on it?

The hidden meaning is not really Grandma Rule appropriate. I think I'll leave it at that. ;) We all know what you really mean, anyway.

I am so totally with you on that one. Though I was thinking more shadowy inquisition type, but still. That picture just says it all, eh? We should totally make an Avenger duo that just runs around slicing people up in the name of the gods. :D

I say yes, but only with the stipulation of having your character's sheet be put into your signature for easy access.
Yeah, I think a link in your signature is sort of a best practice. Or at least in the first post of an adventure thread, or somewhere else accessible. (I personally have the L4W character category bookmarked for ease of access ;)) I do understand that it's difficult to do for veteran PbP'ers who are in 50 different adventures at the same time to have a link to each character in their sig, though.

Oh, and I think wish lists in character sheets is also a good idea. Saves time and effort on everyone's part.
